Connecting Google Ads lets an En Garde segment be used as a Customer Match audience on Search, Display, and YouTube, and brings campaign performance back so spend is reported against the audience it was spent on.
What moves, and which way
Integrations run in both directions. What follows is what this connection is for.
En Garde to Google Ads
- Audience segments, synced as Customer Match audiences on the connected account.
Google Ads to En Garde
- Campaign, ad group, and keyword performance — impressions, clicks, cost, and conversions.
- Conversion actions, so En Garde reports against the same conversion definition you optimise to.
Connecting it
You approve the connection on the platform itself. En Garde never sees your password — the platform hands back a token scoped to the permissions shown before you approve.
- Open Integrations in your Brand Space. The page is titled Connected Apps.
- Find the platform on the Integrations tab, using the search box or the category filter.
- Click Connect. A dialog lists the permissions En Garde will request.
- Continue to the platform. A popup opens on their site where you sign in and approve. If nothing appears, your browser blocked the popup — allow popups for En Garde and try again.
- Leave the popup open until it closes on its own. En Garde then checks the connection status and the card moves to Connected.
Worth knowing
- You approve the connection with the Google account that has access to the Google Ads account. If you manage several accounts under one manager account, pick the specific account you want reporting for.
- Customer Match has eligibility and minimum-size requirements set by Google, not by En Garde. A small segment may sync and still be unusable for targeting until it meets Google's threshold.
